Exhibitor News | SKR Optoelectronics Wins 'Pearl Cup' Excellence Award, Breaks Through UV Curing Technology Barriers
Recently, SKR Optoelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. stood out among over 600 competing projects with its innovative endeavor, "The Breakthrough Journey of High-Power Microwave Electrodeless UV Curing System," and was honored with the Excellence Award at the inaugural Pudong New Area Pearl Cup Entrepreneurship Competition.
This accolade not only signifies a major technological breakthrough for China in the high-end UV curing equipment sector but also reflects the remarkable achievements of Pudong New Area in nurturing hard-tech enterprises and establishing an independent innovation ecosystem.
According to a MarketsandMarkets research report, the global UV curing equipment market is projected to reach $8.3 billion by 2026, with high-power equipment (especially for industrial applications) experiencing a compound annual growth rate of 12.4%. The rapid growth of domestic high-tech industries such as semiconductors, optoelectronic displays, and new energy in recent years, coupled with the urgent demand for localization in the semiconductor sector, has positioned high-end UV curing equipment as a critical component for industrial innovation and upgrading.
SKR Optoelectronics' independently developed SKR®10 series high-power microwave electrodeless UV curing system employs unique microwave UV curing technology. It utilizes a magnetron to generate high-frequency microwave energy, exciting the UV electrodeless lamp to emit high-intensity ultraviolet light, enabling rapid curing of coatings and surface treatments. This system is widely applied across various industrial fields, including semiconductors, optoelectronic displays, automotive, new energy, and electronics.
The flagship product, SKR®10-TWIN, is specifically designed for the semiconductor sector, suitable for 12-inch wafers in 28nm and more advanced process technologies. It can be integrated into CVD process equipment and has been certified by domestic end-user FAB plants, with performance comparable to international brands.
SKR Optoelectronics' innovative project exemplifies the typical characteristics of hard-tech enterprises in Pudong: deep cultivation in niche fields, overcoming critical technological challenges, and establishing comprehensive intellectual property systems. Their technological approach aligns with the global trend toward high-power and intelligent UV curing equipment, addressing the pressing need for domestic alternatives. This achievement marks a leap from 'usable' to 'excellent' in key areas, substantially enhancing China's autonomous control capabilities in the high-end manufacturing industry chain.
The FILM AND TAPE EXPO 2025 is scheduled to take place from Oct. 28 to 30, 2025, at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Bao'an New Hall). This event, along with five concurrent exhibitions, is expected to cover a total exhibition area of 160,000 square meters, bringing together over 3,500 global manufacturers from the functional film and adhesive products industry. More than 100 thematic forums will be held, attracting over 165,000 professional visitors from both domestic and international markets. The expo will serve as a grand feast for the functional materials industry chain, with attendees from sectors such as touch displays, digital electronics, plastic packaging, printing labels, coating and die-cutting equipment, 3C appliances, automotive, lithium batteries, photovoltaics, PCB/FPC circuit boards, semiconductors, and architectural decoration.
